How this all started.

It's really a very short story. We decided to take a trip one day to Murphy NC to check on some land for sale. Along the way we saw a sign for the Hiawassee Reservoir and decided to go take a look.

Well, after some time on back roads, we finally came upon the "Dam Road." We couldn't believe what we saw. The dam is awesome. We drove across the dam to the public area and were surprised at all the information available.

After reading about this dam and seeing a map of other dams in the area, plus standing at the base and looking up to the top, 307 feet above us, we were hooked.

We just started this a couple of months ago (October 2007) and have now finally decided to have a go at it.
